FGS Agri, a leading agricultural contracting company operating across the South East requires experienced excavator and loading shovel operators to work within our biosolid recycling team.  Additional staff are being sought to join our established team to cover expansion of services operating from either our Andover, Hampshire or Ashford, Kent depots. The role will involve:
  • Loading or moving biosolids within sewage works or in field locations.
  • Undertaking biosolid stockpiling operations, creating clean and tidy storage of material often in field site locations.
  • Performing ad-hoc and often bespoke operations to support the contract requirements such as creating temporary hand standings.
  • From time to time, manual working will be required to assist with client property repairs to ditches, gateways, fencing and tree planting.
  • Carrying out routine maintenance and inspections on machinery.
Requirements:
  • Applicants must have a valid driving licence.
  • Excavator / Loading Shovel competency tickets and experience will be an advantage.
  • You should have a flexible approach to work, instructions can change daily with weather conditions.
  • Willing to travel and work variable hours and differing locations across the South East.
  • Attention to detail in your work is essential as is the ability to follow instructions.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Thames enterprise based in Hampshire/Surrey/Berkshire for a Mobile Mechanic. FGS Agri are an integrated business supplying the needs of the agriculture and utility sector across the Southeast, as part of Heathcote Holdings Group. The company prides itself on providing solutions to our clients promptly and professionally, whilst continuing to expand within a rapidly moving sector. Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining and upkeep of a variety of self-propelled machines and agricultural equipment
  • Service, repair and maintenance of a range of machines, including LGV’s.
  • Undertake welding, fabrication, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs.
  • Inspection of machinery as necessary, ensuring that repairs are undertaken safely and in line with approved methods.
  • Conducting initial assessment of plant or equipment reported as faulty, identify root cause, and formulate a remedy either as a temporary fix or full-service repair.
Requirements for role:
  • Full Clean driving licence
  • LGV Class 2 licence required.
  • Hold an Engineering Trade Qualification, preferably mechanical, engineer or welder equivalent would be an advantage.
  • 5 years practical experience
  • Ability to work under pressure and make decisions when required.
  • Ability to work alone and in a team.

An opportunity has arisen within FGS Agri (part of the Heathcote Holdings group) for a Working Arable Farm Manager. We are an integrated business supplying the needs of the agricultural industry across south east England and currently cropping 1,200ha. Key Features:
  • An opportunity to manage an arable unit within a mixed farming operation with a suckler herd in addition to contracting and organics businesses.
  • The use of the latest technology and machinery.
Aims and responsibilities:
  • Produce consistently high-quality crops with the support of our Agronomist.
  • Maximise the productivity and profitability of the Arable Enterprise within the confines of good agricultural practice and cross compliance.
  • Keep records for ACCS purposes, i.e. cropping, applications, field work, crop storage, rodent control and farm machinery maintenance.
  • Provide work instruction, direction and leadership to arable enterprise staff and to encompass responsibility for their motivation and discipline.
  • Undertake the management and operation of the Contract Spraying Enterprise.
  • Work as part of an integrated team with our Livestock, Organics and Contracting enterprises reporting to the Company Chairman.
Requirements for role:
  • An agricultural background and knowledge of the industry is essential
  • At least 5 years practical and relevant experience essential
  • Self-motivated with an eye for detail
  • Computer literate
  • PA1 & PA2 essential
  • BASIS would be an advantage

FGS Agri are an integrated business supplying the needs of the agriculture and utility sector across the South East, as part of Heathcote Holdings Group. The company prides itself on providing solutions to our clients promptly and professionally, whilst continuing to expand within a rapidly moving sector. Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining and achieving road worthiness of all fleet LGVs and HGVs.
  • Maintaining and upkeep of a variety of agricultural contracting equipment and machinery.
  • Undertake welding and fabrication work as necessary.
  • Recovery of vehicles on highways and field sites as and when required
  • Carry out, diagnosis and repairs to hydraulics/electrical systems.
Requirements for role:

  • 5 years practical experience
  • Ability to work under pressure and make decisions when required.
