Thursday 22nd April marks Earth Day, a decades old global initiative to celebrate and protect our planet. Each year, the Earth Day movement sets a theme as a way to start conversations, inspire people and encourage positive changes for our planet. The chosen theme for this year is ‘Restore Our Earth’. We have been advocates for regenerative farming practices for many years and are pleased to see these practices becoming more mainstream and getting the attention they rightly deserve.
With major documentaries such as Kiss The Ground (Netflix) hailing regenerative farming and soil health as credible ways to stop and even potentially reverse the effects of global warming, we hope that Earth Day can raise awareness of the importance of soil health and garner more support for regenerative farmers. Highly recommended viewing, the documentary explores how carbon sequestration, which captures dangerous carbon from the atmosphere and stores it in soil, can be boosted by healthy soil, naturally produced compost and regenerative farming.
However you choose to mark the day, we wish you a very happy Earth Day and hope that this year can bring more positive environmental changes for the future of our planet.
