General Manager 

We are looking to recruit an ambitious and experienced General Manager based at our Head Office in Kent on a permanent basis who will be able to take a lead role in day to day management of operations predominantly, whilst supporting their existing enterprise management team structure.


Reporting to the Managing Director, the General Manager will be responsible for controlling all elements of the operational efficiencies of various services provided to both external and internal customers (in house enterprises) whilst maintaining a lead in general business development. This is a new position which has been created to drive change, develop existing business, promote the existing structure and enhance profitability.


The role involves ensuring that all facets of the operational business are carried out in compliance with all of our legal obligations and internal standards to ensure that FGS Agri is perceived as a reputable, value for money service provider to our present and potential clients. The role also carries financial responsibility for maximising Company profitability.


Health and Safety is of paramount importance and FGS Agri places great emphasis on managing our operations safely and responsibly, ensuring all H&S is adhered to, monitored and improved will be part of your responsibility.


The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate a good track record of managing similar operations and maintaining excellent working relationships with clients. An ability to problem solve and assist in planning logistics, including complex 24/7 planning and adhoc client requirements will be required.


The ability to communicate at a high level, negotiate and to motivate a workforce, compiling management reports, performance management are also all essential.  We will also require the successful applicant to be IT literate and competent in using Microsoft Office Packages.
