An exciting opportunity has arisen within our agricultural and utility contracting enterprise for a Yard Operative. FGS Agri are an integrated business supplying the needs of the agriculture and utility sector across the South East, as part of Heathcote Holdings Group. You will be working with a range of modern machinery alongside a hardworking, friendly and professional team.
Responsibilities:
Yard Maintenance:
- Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the yard.
- Ensuring that tools, machinery, and equipment are stored properly.
- Assist with unloading, stacking, and organising agricultural materials, such as hay/ straw, fertilisers, and other products.
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on plant and machinery, including regularly greasing machinery and fault identification.
Valeting and Cleaning of Vehicles/Equipment:
- Thoroughly clean and wash agricultural machinery, vehicles, and equipment, including tractors, trailers, and harvesters, both inside and out to a high standard.
Requirements for role:
- Previous experience working in a yard, warehouse, or agricultural environment is preferred but not essential.
- Basic knowledge of agricultural machinery and equipment is an advantage.
- Ability to safely operate small machinery and cleaning equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and punctuality.
- A valid driving license is preferable.
- Flexibility in working hours, especially during peak seasons.
