Case Study
Tree Clearance in Sittingbourne
Responsible and sustainable site management

Project Overview
FGS Agri was commissioned to undertake extensive vegetation clearance in Sittingbourne, Kent. Covering 55 hectares, the project grubbed the orchard and prepared the site for future use. Our role was to deliver the clearance efficiently while ensuring that environmental impact was minimised.
Our Approach
Using our fleet of modern, low-emission machinery and skilled operators, we carried out the large-scale clearance safely, efficiently and within the required timeframe. Central to our approach was a commitment to sustainable site management. Instead of traditional methods such as burning waste wood on-site, we implemented an environmentally responsible alternative.
Sustainable Reuse of Waste Wood
All timber and brash collected from the clearance was chipped and repurposed. The material was transported for use in creating walkways at a local dog walking field managed by FGS Agri. This initiative not only diverted waste from disposal but also supported community infrastructure. By applying circular economy principles, we reduced emissions, promoted biodiversity in the cleared area and gave value back to the local community.
Results & Benefits
The site was handed over to the client with all vegetation processed sustainably. By reusing woodchip locally, we delivered both environmental and social value, helping the client meet sustainability targets while enhancing nearby community facilities.
