Case Study: Vegetation Clearance for Site Access and Sustainable Reuse
Responsible site clearance with a sustainable outcome
Project Overview
FGS Agri was commissioned to undertake a vegetation clearance project for a recycling facility in Kent. The site had become heavily overgrown with trees, bushes and dense vegetation, limiting both access and operational use. Our objective was to restore the site efficiently while ensuring that ecological protection and sustainable practices remained central to the works.
Our Approach
All clearance activities were carried out under an ecological watching brief to safeguard existing wildlife and habitats. Our skilled ground crew deployed specialist low-impact machinery to clear the overgrown vegetation, including trees and woody material. This ensured the site was safely and effectively prepared for its next stage of development, while minimising environmental disturbance.
Sustainable Wood Reuse
True to our commitment to sustainability and waste reduction, all timber and woody material was chipped on-site rather than disposed of through less sustainable methods. The green waste was sent one of our group recycling facilities to be repurposed into compost, demonstrating a practical closed-loop approach that diverts material from disposal and delivers clear environmental benefits.
Results & Benefits
The project has delivered immediate improvements in site access and usability while achieving a sustainable outcome for the waste materials. By combining ecological oversight, specialist equipment and sustainable reuse, FGS Agri ensured the clearance was completed responsibly with lasting environmental value.
