We are seeking an enthusiastic, committed and experienced Working Livestock Manager for our business in Ashford, Kent, working with a 220-cow spring block calving suckler herd of predominately Limousin cross Sussex. In addition, there are approximately 250 store cattle which are generally run through to fattening. We have a newly modified, bespoke cattle building and handling system to work with.

The role will be focused on all aspects of the day-to-day livestock responsibilities, this role includes:

• Managing feed and rations
• Managing the calving period
• Undertake electronic record keeping of all animal movements, medicine administration and herd record keeping.
• Manage turnout of cows and calves, putting into appropriate groups to suit introduction of bull.
• Dehorning and carry out vaccinations as and when required.
• Fencing, stock handling and other associated duties

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

• Experience in livestock husbandry
• Good tractor and telehandler skills
• Have a proactive, problem-solving mind set
• Very organised, ensuring the highest standards of herd health and welfare are maintained.
• Positive, enthusiastic and hardworking.
