It may be March but winter still has a firm grip on us! Working alongside our sister company FGS Gritting, we continue to provide winter gritting, salt supply and snow clearance services across the South East of England. But what is gritting?
Our gritting service involves spreading de-icing salt onto private roads, car parks and pedestrian areas to prevent ice forming. The salt mixes with any moisture and creates a saline solution, which freezes at a lower temperature than water, so frost and ice doesn’t form. The spreading process is best undertaken when it is not raining to avoid salt being washed away.
